Saudi Arabia has rolled out new guidelines restricting pilgrims to undertaking just one Umrah during the last 10 days of Ramadan. The restriction is part of a bid to control the flow of pilgrims and make it a seamless and spiritually rewarding experience for all pilgrims.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said the new guidelines will assist in managing the huge number of pilgrims anticipated during the last days of the holy month, which historically record the highest number of visitors to the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
The authorities also unveiled extended services and logistical enhancements within the Haram precinct, such as upgraded crowd management systems, better transport networks, and more prayer areas.
Pilgrims are being asked to make early preparations and book their permits in advance from authorized platforms in order to abide by the new rule. The Saudi government underlined that the decision is meant to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims during peak Ramadan worship.
