Schengen Visa Requests from India Skyrocket as Europe Experiences Summer Holiday Boom

As summer takes its course, Europe is seeing a steep increase in Schengen visa requests from Indian tourists due to a robust recovery in tourism and increased demand for international holidays. Indian consulates across Europe indicate that they are seeing a massive spike in demand, particularly for well-known countries such as France, Italy, Germany, and Spain.

Indian tour operators blame the boom on pent-up demand for holidays, optimal exchange rates, and improved connectivity via direct flights. Families and young professionals are organizing long vacations, cultural tours, and even trips to Europe to get away from the subcontinent’s stifling heat.

The surge has resulted in increased waiting times for appointments at visa centers, and the authorities have increased staff and optimized processing to cope with the numbers. Early application and documentation are advised by experts to prevent delays.

The trend confirms Europe’s ongoing appeal to Indian tourists, as post-pandemic travel confidence comes back and the continent continues to be a favorite for summer vacations.
