Saudi citizens and expatriates aged 60 and above can enjoy complimentary entry to the ongoing Riyadh Season, the kingdom’s flagship annual entertainment and tourism festival, according to the event’s organizer.

Turki Al Alsheikh, head of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announced that seniors will have free access to all areas of this year’s festival throughout its duration. Entry passes can be obtained via the Tawakkalna app, as shared on social media platform X.

Kicking off on October 12, the fifth edition of Riyadh Season has already attracted 2 million visitors in just a week. This year’s event boasts 14 zones, 11 world championships, and 10 exhibitions.

Among the highlights is the new Boulevard Runway zone, created in collaboration with Saudi Airlines, which repurposes retired aircraft into unique entertainment and dining experiences. Set to open on October 28, this zone can accommodate 9,000 guests and promises a distinctive experience with real flight runways, shopping, and dining options.

As part of its efforts to diversify its oil-dependent economy and draw in more visitors, Saudi Arabia established the GEA in May 2016. Since then, the agency has hosted an array of spectacular concerts, stage performances, and festivals.

The Riyadh Season, launched in 2019, aims to transform the city into a global entertainment and tourism hotspot.
