Truck movement will be limited on Emirates Transit Road during the evening rush hours from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, according to an announcement by Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on December 31.

The new rules will start on January 1, 2025, and will apply to the stretch of Emirates Road between the Sharjah entrance and Intersection No. 7.

This step is being taken to reduce traffic jams during busy evening hours, making it easier for commuters to travel smoothly.

Similarly, Dubai authorities have also announced truck restrictions on Emirates Road during the same time frame. This will affect the part of the road between Al Awir Street and Sharjah.

Both changes, starting January 1, 2025, aim to improve traffic flow during peak hours and highlight a unified approach to managing road congestion.
