Sharjah has implemented projects worth Dh20,409,404 over the past six months to enhance electricity networks in the Central Region, the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (Sewa) shared on Friday.
The upgrades include laying 97.740 km of high-voltage cables, 5.540 km of low-voltage cables, and removing 35 km of overhead lines.
The emirate is working on a plan to replace overhead lines with underground cables to improve infrastructure in the Central Region.
“This initiative aims to stabilize networks and ensure top-quality services,” said Engineer Khalifa Mohammed Al Tunaiji, director of Sewa’s Central Region Department.
These upgrades align with the directives of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide residents with high-standard services across the emirate, Sewa added.
