One of the main attractions is the weekly farmers’ market, where local farmers and productive families sell fresh produce and handmade items directly to visitors.

The festival is packed with entertainment and educational experiences, including live demonstrations of wheat harvesting and grinding. Visitors can also explore sales outlets offering a variety of organic wheat-based products.

For those interested in learning, the event features interactive workshops on sustainable agriculture, teaching modern farming techniques and practices.

When and Where

The festival welcomes visitors every day of the week with free entry. Timings are as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9 AM to 10 PM
  • Friday to Sunday: 4 PM to 11 PM

Supporting Services and Vision

To ensure a smooth experience, the organizing team has provided full logistical support for visitors and participants.

Dr. Khalifa Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, highlighted the festival’s goal of promoting sustainability and improving the quality of life in Sharjah. He added that the festival supports the agricultural sector through various programs and initiatives.

About the Wheat Farm

The Wheat Farm in Mleiha, launched by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, spans 1,900 hectares. This project is a key initiative to strengthen Sharjah’s food security, producing high-quality organic wheat free from pesticides and chemicals. The wheat is recognized for its high protein content, making it one of the best globally.

The farm began operations in 2022, with its first phase covering 400 hectares. It ensures enough organic wheat to meet the food demands of Sharjah’s population.

Celebrating Community and Sustainability

With its emphasis on community engagement, agricultural sustainability, and cultural celebration, the Wheat Festival is a must-visit event for residents and tourists in Sharjah. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with local traditions while enjoying a variety of family-friendly activities.
