Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and UAE Minister of Defence, started an official visit to India on April 8, 2025. The visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is intended to further strengthen the long-standing relations between the two countries.
During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan will meet top Indian officials such as External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh. These talks are set to center on promoting cooperation in multiple strategic fields.
On April 8, Prime Minister Modi will be hosting a working lunch in honor of Sheikh Hamdan, once again highlighting the significance of this visit. The Crown Prince will also be attending a business roundtable in Mumbai, where he will be meeting with key business leaders to discuss possibilities of economic cooperation.
This visit reaffirms the UAE’s dedication to forging strategic partnerships and driving development through innovation and cooperation. With more than 4.3 million Indians living in the UAE, mostly in Dubai, the close people-to-people connections between the nations are a reflection of their long-standing relationship.
