On Tuesday, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, met with sports champions like UFC lightweight titleholder and India’s former world No.1 doubles player, Sania Mirza, at the Dubai Sports Retreat. Held at the Museum of the Future, the event promoted Dubai’s status as the first sports destination.

The Dubai Sports Retreat gathered 100 top local and international figures under the slogan “Dubai: The First Sports Destination” at the iconic Museum of the Future. “This retreat showed Dubai’s rising influence as a global hub for sports,” Sheikh Hamdan shared on X.

During the retreat, Sheikh Hamdan met Dubai’s sports ambassadors—a diverse group of Arab and international stars who now call Dubai home. Their dedication to advancing sports and nurturing new talent inspires the vision for Dubai’s growth.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed gratitude to all participants, including former French footballer Fabien Barthez, Lebanese basketball icon Fadi Al Khatib, and ex-Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, emphasizing that the insights gained from the event will help Dubai’s clubs excel and develop local talent.

“Our mission is to make sports a way of life, a source of happiness, and a driving force for Dubai’s progress,” he added.
