On Friday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the appointment of Marwan bin Ghalita as the new acting director-general of the Dubai Municipality (DM).

In addition to his current role as the acting director-general of the Dubai Land Department, Bin Ghalita will now oversee Dubai Municipality. He is a graduate of the government’s leadership programme and is known for his strong communication skills and collaboration with other institutions.

“Sheikh Mohammed highlighted his positive reputation for engaging with the public, addressing their concerns, and building partnerships with other organizations,” the announcement stated.

Appreciation for Previous Officials

Sheikh Mohammed also expressed gratitude to Dawood Abdulrahman AlHajri, who has served as director-general of Dubai Municipality since 2018. He thanked AlHajri for his dedication and hard work over the years.

Additionally, the Dubai Ruler acknowledged Mattar Al Tayer, who has held various leadership roles in Dubai’s government, including at Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Land Department.

“These institutions are now entering a new phase to enhance their services and continue their mission of making Dubai the world’s best city to live in,” Sheikh Mohammed remarked.
