Sheikh Mohammed to Inaugurate Federal National Council Session Today

An important session of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) will begin on Monday, led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. This session marks the second ordinary meeting of the FNC’s 18th legislative chapter, held at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi on behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed.

Key Highlights of the Session

The agenda includes electing observers as per the council’s rules and discussing various messages and recommendations. These focus on government strategies, industrial growth, public policies, and legislative matters. The council will also address the federal budget for 2025.

Attendees at the Ceremony

The event will see the presence of Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, Sheikhs, senior officials, and members of the diplomatic corps in the UAE.

The council will review nine messages from Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for FNC Affairs. Key topics include:

  1. Government Policies:
    • Raising birth rates in the UAE.
    • The social support program’s impact on low-income citizens.
    • Strengthening the Arabic language as a core part of national identity.
  2. Cabinet Decisions:
    • Marriage standards, grants, and pre-marriage counseling programs.
    • Water security and food safety policies.
    • Policies for combating drugs under the Ministry of Interior.
    • Federal Tax Authority’s implementation of VAT and excise taxes.
  3. Industrial Development:
    • Enhancing the legislative framework to support industrial growth.
