Submissions accepted for the 12th Sharjah Government Communication Award

Submissions from all around the world are currently being accepted for the 12th Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) until July 24, 2025 (formerly till June 19 for several categories).
Everything you need to know to take part is as follows:

Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Open globally to individuals, private sector teams, international organisations, and government agencies.

23 categories across five sectors—government agencies, business sector and international organisations, individuals, partners, and jury-selected awards—include institutional excellence, crisis and cultural communication, youth-focused campaigns, soft-power innovations, and more.

Key Dates
Deadline: July 24, 2025

Announced winners: September 11, 2025—ceremony at Dubai’s International Government Communication Forum.
What You Can Submit
Projects initiated or significantly updated within the last two years.
One entry per category, up to three categories per institution, with unique content per submission.

Format and Contents
Make an account and submit online via the official SGCA website; no physical copies will be accepted.

Provide a written case study (no more than 1,000 words) that explains the goals, tactics, execution, and outcomes, along with a brief video (no more than five minutes).

Provide corroborating data, such as campaign materials, infographics, statistics, and images.

The Significance of It
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau was founded by the ruler of Sharjah, and it has since grown to become a globally renowned symbol of excellence in innovative communication. It shines a light on impactful strategies like soft power, community empowerment, crisis response, and cultural messaging.

How to Participate
Decide on the category that best fits your project.

Make sure to emphasise innovation, reach, and quantifiable impact in your 5-minute video and case study.

Before the deadline of July 24, submit using the official portal.
