Thumbay Hospital Fujairah marked World Hypertension Day with a new awareness campaign to raise awareness among the public regarding the dangers and control of high blood pressure. The drive involved healthcare providers, members of the community, and patients to draw attention to the need for routine screening and lifestyle modifications in the fight against this silent killer.
As part of the activity, free blood pressure screenings, medical consultations with specialists, and educational lectures were provided to participants. Educational materials in different languages were also given by the hospital to reach out to the multicultural population of Fujairah.
This initiative is in line with Thumbay Hospital’s continued focus on preventive care and community health. Hospital officials highlighted the fact that early detection and intervention can make a huge difference in preventing heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure resulting from hypertension.
The event was a reminder that education and awareness are the linchpins for chronic disease management. Thumbay Hospital continues to advocate for frequent health check-ups and advocates heart-healthy living as one of the pillars of its public health initiatives.
