The inaugural cycle of the Thumbay International Research Grant came to a triumphant close, ushering in a tide of innovation and collaboration in the world of academia. The grand ceremony of awards, hosted in Ajman, was a milestone achievement in the enhancement of research excellence in the region.
As many as 192 applications were received from 34 universities from different countries, highlighting the international reach and popularity of the initiative. Following a tough selection process, 14 exceptional research projects were chosen for funding across a range of areas including medical sciences, technology, and sustainability.
Thumbay Group Founder President Dr. Thumbay Moideen congratulated the candidates for their commitment and highlighted the need for research to drive future-centric solutions. Eminent academicians, researchers, and industry leaders graced the event, marking the ceremony’s importance.
This project is expected to reinforce stronger academic collaborations and propel the UAE to a leading role as a hub for innovative research worldwide. Second-cycle plans are already in place, with even higher participation and support promised.
