Three football players from Egypt’s Zamalek Club have been sentenced to one month in jail and fined Dh200,000 each for their involvement in an incident on Sunday, October 20.

The players were found guilty of assaulting security personnel and inciting riots during the Egyptian Super Cup semi-final match against Pyramids Club.

According to media, players Nabil Emad Dongha, Mustafa Shalaby, and team director Abdel Wahed El Sayed were called to a police station for questioning on Monday, October 21.

In its ruling, the court stated that the charges were supported by evidence. Testimonies from victims were backed by security camera footage reviewed during the public prosecution’s investigation. The court also confirmed that the players did not follow event regulations and assaulted security staff responsible for managing the game.
