Several injuries were reported on Monday when a bus carrying construction workers met with an accident in Khorfakkan.

Sharjah Police confirmed the incident through their social media but did not provide specific details about the casualties.

In an Instagram story, the police urged the public not to spread misinformation, stating:

“In cooperation with all relevant authorities, we are addressing the bus accident involving workers in Khorfakkan. Updates will follow. We advise everyone to get information only from official sources.”

According to social workers, the accident occurred at a roundabout near the city’s entrance.

Saleem, a social worker from the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC), explained, “The workers, all Indian nationals, were employed by a company based in Ajman. They had traveled to Ajman on their day off to visit the company’s headquarters and shop for groceries. They were returning around 8 pm when the accident happened.”

Saleem, who visited the injured workers at Khorfakkan Hospital, mentioned that many were in shock and unable to recall the events clearly.
