Each year, the UAE honors Oman’s National Day by lighting up major landmarks with the Omani flag, welcoming Omani visitors at airports and border crossings with flowers and gifts, and hosting vibrant celebrations in malls and entertainment venues. These festivities highlight the deep brotherly relationship and strong strategic partnership between the two countries.

Under the guidance of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed and Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, the bond between the two nations continues to grow. This partnership is further reflected in economic, cultural, and developmental collaborations.

Oman’s Vision for Progress

Under Sultan Haitham’s leadership, Oman is advancing through a new era of growth. The “Oman Vision 2040” focuses on modernizing the nation, diversifying the economy, and achieving sustainable development. Key goals include:

  • Annual economic growth of 5%.
  • Increasing GDP per capita by up to 90%.
  • Establishing a world-class educational system.
  • Promoting research, innovation, and knowledge-driven industries.
  • Creating a dynamic and attractive job market.

Strong Economic Ties

The UAE and Oman maintain robust economic relations. In 2023, their non-oil trade reached Dh51 billion, up from Dh48.7 billion in 2022—a growth rate of 5%. The UAE stands as Oman’s largest trading partner, accounting for over 40% of Oman’s imports and 20% of its exports.

In April 2023, during Sultan Haitham’s visit to the UAE, both countries signed agreements worth Dh129 billion. These agreements focus on renewable energy, green minerals, digital infrastructure, and railway projects, showcasing their commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Cultural connections between the UAE and Oman run deep, enriched by shared traditions, art, and literature. These ties reflect their intertwined histories and strengthen the foundation of their enduring friendship.
