The UAE has strongly condemned Israel’s recent strikes on Iran, voicing “deep concern” over the escalating situation and its potential impact on regional security and stability.

In a statement, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) emphasized “the importance of exercising utmost self-restraint” to reduce risks and avoid further intensification of the conflict. It underscored “the necessity of resolving disputes through diplomatic means, rather than confrontation and escalation.”

Israel reported that it had targeted Iranian military sites early Saturday as a retaliatory measure against Tehran’s earlier attacks on Israeli territory this month. Iranian media confirmed several hours of explosions around Tehran and nearby military facilities, starting after 2 a.m. local time (2230 GMT Friday). By dawn, Israel’s public broadcaster announced that three waves of airstrikes had been completed.

Iran’s response indicated that its air defenses had successfully countered the strikes in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces, with “limited damage” reported.

Tensions have been high across the Middle East in anticipation of Israel’s response to Iran’s October 1 ballistic missile barrage, in which around 200 missiles were fired, resulting in one fatality in the West Bank.

Flight Disruptions
Dubai-based flydubai confirmed the cancellation and diversion of flights to Jordan, Iran, Iraq, and Israel on Saturday. Emirates also announced cancellations for flights to and from Baghdad and Tehran until October 30, advising affected passengers to contact their point of origin for assistance. Flights between Iran and Iraq have since resumed after a brief suspension due to the Israeli strikes.
