The UAE pledged $25,000 to the Trust Fund for the Least Developed Countries (LDC) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) during a recent financing meeting. Ambassador Jamal Al Musharakh, the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, highlighted that this funding aims to ensure global representation in international forums.
The contribution also supports technical assistance to improve the effectiveness of multilateral actions and enhances the participation of LDCs and SIDS in the Human Rights Council’s work. Ambassador Al Musharakh stated that investing in these countries fosters a more inclusive and equitable world.
This initiative aligns with the UAE’s long-standing commitment to foreign aid, which includes efforts to tackle global challenges like poverty, climate change, and economic inequality while promoting peace and prosperity.
