The UAE has launched an enormous infrastructure project for Dh750 million to improve Emirates Road (E611), one of the most important thoroughfares in the nation. In order to reduce traffic and improve connection throughout the main emirates, the improvement will include the installation of 70 km of additional traffic lanes.
According to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the upgrade will transform Emirates Road into a more efficient and safer route, accommodating the ever-increasing traffic between Dubai, Sharjah, and other northern emirates. The development comes amid the UAE’s ongoing investment in smart mobility and transport sustainability.
The expansion is expected to enhance traffic capacity by nearly 50%, significantly reducing travel times during peak hours. It will also support freight and logistics operations, as E611 is a preferred route for heavy vehicles moving across industrial zones and ports.
Construction will be rolled out in phases, with authorities ensuring minimal disruption to daily commuters. Once complete, the enhanced Emirates Road will offer a smoother, faster, and safer drive, contributing to the UAE’s long-term vision of world-class infrastructure and urban mobility.
