UAE Flyers From Mumbai Might Pay More as Airport Fees Are Increased

UAE-bound passengers flying out of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport could soon face higher charges as the airport authorities have proposed a fee increase. The additional charges are intended to finance ongoing and upcoming enhancement projects aimed at upgrading the airport’s infrastructure and services.

The fee increase, if sanctioned, will be charged from all outbound flyers and should help pay significantly for terminal expansion, runway upgrades, and other passenger service improvements at one of India’s busiest airports.

The development follows the airport’s bid to deal with increasing passenger loads as well as upgrade its facilities to align with international standards. The plan is being examined by the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) and may be approved later this year.

Passengers traveling from Mumbai to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other UAE cities are recommended to keep a close eye on developments, as this proposed hike could influence overall travel expense. UAE is among the top destinations for passengers traveling from Mumbai.
