In a historic move, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has made the golden visa for nurses announcement across the UAE. The move aims to recognize nurses’ untiring efforts in the healthcare and humanitarian fields, especially at difficult moments such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The announcement was made in the context of a general acknowledgement of the nursing community’s unwavering service, empathy, and professionalism, which drive the nation’s health and wellbeing. The golden visa provides extended residency advantages, allowing greater stability and possibility for healthcare professionals and their families.

The golden visa scheme, first introduced to welcome investors and best brains, has now been opened up to include frontline staff and important healthcare workers. Eligible nurses as identified by the concerned authorities can now apply for this elite visa.

This step is not only a testament to the UAE’s gratitude towards healthcare specialists but also to the country’s identity as a global medical talent hub. Officials confirmed that application processes will be simplified, with further information to be announced soon.
