Following July 8, airfares between the United Arab Emirates and India fell to exceptionally low levels, shocking both tourists and travel brokers. Typically, the route sees steep prices ranging from Dh2,800 to Dh3,000 during the peak summer holiday season, but fares have now dropped to nearly half in some cases.
Travel agents attribute this unexpected drop to a combination of factors, including increased flight capacity, low demand following Eid travel, and early return of school-going families. Routes to popular Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, and Hyderabad are now being offered for as low as Dh1,200 to Dh1,500, depending on the airline and date of booking.
According to a travel consultant located in Dubai, this type of pricing is uncommon for July. Rates typically rise during school breaks and periods of high demand. But this year, post-July 8, the bookings slowed down sharply, giving airlines no choice but to lower fares.”
Industry experts suggest that budget-conscious travelers looking to visit India can take advantage of this temporary airfare dip before prices start to climb again in August, ahead of back-to-school and festival travel.
