Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, children battling chronic illnesses have had the opportunity to travel abroad and experience joy. The foundation announced that from the beginning of 2024 until the end of September, it has fulfilled the wishes of 26 children, aiming to bring happiness and smiles to their faces.
Hani Al-Zubaidi, CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, highlighted the profound impact that fulfilling these wishes can have on children facing serious health challenges.
The children’s travel wishes included three for performing Umrah, one for Hajj, eight for visits to Disneyland in Paris, five to Disneyland in Orlando, and one each for trips to Disneyland in Tokyo, as well as visits to Paris, London, Switzerland, Thailand, Egypt, Dallas in the USA, Aqaba in Jordan, and Mauritius.
“For children who struggle with chronic illnesses, the opportunity to see the world and explore new cultures, in addition to the spirituality of fulfilling wishes for Hajj and Umrah, and experiencing joy away from their daily routines, is not just a trip; it is a life-changing experience. It gives them the strength, hope, and emotional resilience they need to continue their fight. We are committed to fulfilling these wishes because we understand the difference it makes,” he explained.
Al-Zubaidi expressed gratitude, stating, “We owe a big thank you to our partners, donors, and supporters. Their steadfast support and continuous generosity have enabled us to bring smiles to the faces of these children, fulfilling their wishes to see the world beyond their borders and create memories that will last a lifetime.”
He added that the foundation is dedicated to granting wishes for as many children as possible, aiming to bring hope, strength, and happiness to those in greatest need.
