The UAE Ministry of Education has officially released the school calendar for the academic year 2025–2026, setting the stage for students, teachers, and parents to plan ahead. The new academic year will begin on August 25, 2025, for all public and private schools following the ministry’s curriculum. The announcement brings clarity to the upcoming term structure and public holidays across the Emirates.
As per the calendar, the first term will run from August 25 to December 12, followed by a winter break from December 15 to January 2, 2026. The second semester runs from January 5 to March 26, with spring break occurring between March 29 and April 9. The final term will begin on April 12 and is expected to conclude by July 2, subject to slight variations for different curricula.
In addition to term dates, the calendar outlines official holidays, including Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, National Day, and Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Birthday, depending on moon sightings and official government announcements. Schools are advised to remain flexible and align closely with the UAE Cabinet’s official holiday list, which may slightly adjust specific dates.
Parents and educational institutions have welcomed the early release of the calendar, as it allows for better vacation planning, academic scheduling, and curriculum management. With the education sector in the UAE striving for consistency and global alignment, the structured calendar reflects a well-organized approach to the academic year ahead.
