An aircraft carrying UAE aid has successfully delivered essential relief packages to Lebanese refugees in Syria, as well as to Syrians returning to their homeland. The medical supplies are part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts and are a crucial element of the ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ national campaign.
Since October 4, the UAE has sent a total of 14 aircraft, with 12 heading to Lebanon and two to Syria.
The UAE remains dedicated to its extensive humanitarian initiatives to assist Lebanon in coping with the ongoing crisis, following the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organizations, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Lebanese people. Al Shamsi stated that the UAE is preparing to send an additional 40 tonnes of food supplies to Lebanese refugees in Syria and to returning Syrians. The Emirates Red Crescent organization, in collaboration with the UAE Aid Coordination Office in Syria, is distributing food supplies to those most in need.
Importantly, the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council is overseeing the relief aid distribution in partnership with humanitarian institutions, Emirati charity organizations, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working alongside international organizations.
