UAE starts day with cold temperatures, fog and cloudy skies expected

Temperatures in Al Ain cooled to a crisp 3.1°C on what turned out to be one of the coldest mornings of the season. While residents shook off the early chill, mostly sunny skies awaited them, but the weekend promises to bring a change in the weather pattern with the onset of fog and overcast conditions.

Today, the weather will be relatively mild with sunshine breaks, but cold temperatures are still expected in the early hours. However, by the weekend, cloudy skies and fog are expected to take over, and visibility is going to be a problem, especially in the mornings.

The fog, combined with overcast skies, is supposed to continue during the weekend; therefore, cooling temperatures and impaired visibility on roads are expected. Residents are reminded to be watchful, particularly in the wee hours, due to the hazardous travel conditions, which the fog may cause.

While the weather remains calm today, the change in conditions reminds one of the region’s unpredictable climate during the winter months. The shift from sunny to foggy skies will add an element of chill to the already cool temperatures, making for a brisk but scenic weekend ahead.
