The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the recent attack on a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) convoy, emphasizing its firm stance against violence targeting peacekeeping missions. The UAE expressed deep concern over the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon, calling for immediate measures to ensure the safety of UN personnel operating in the region.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country’s unwavering commitment to supporting Lebanon’s stability and security. The UAE urged all parties involved to respect international peacekeeping efforts and refrain from actions that endanger the lives of UN personnel. The ministry also emphasized the importance of upholding diplomatic solutions to conflicts in the region.

The attack on the UNIFIL convoy has drawn widespread condemnation from the international community, with global leaders calling for a thorough investigation to hold those responsible accountable. UNIFIL, which has been operating in Lebanon since 1978, plays a crucial role in maintaining peace along the country’s southern border and preventing escalations between conflicting parties.

The UAE continues to extend humanitarian aid and diplomatic support to Lebanon, reinforcing its role as a key partner in regional stability efforts. It has consistently provided relief assistance and called for constructive dialogue to resolve ongoing tensions. The country reiterated its call for de-escalation and urged the international community to take necessary steps to protect UN personnel on peacekeeping missions.
