The UAE Scholarship Office, SCO, has registered an increased number of students from the UAE studying in China. The UAE’s strategic educational goals are fulfilled along with good bilateral relations. There are 70 Emiratis enrolled in mid-September this year. Most of the students were enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s programs at top Chinese institutions. The SCO hopes to have this number rise to 300 in the coming years.

Ahmed Mohamed Al Hameeri, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and SCO Vice Chairman, thanked the UAE leadership for supporting the overseas students. He appreciated the role of the SCO in expanding opportunities in China. Al Hameeri emphasized on advanced higher education and scientific collaboration between the UAE and China.

Chinese Universities Welcome UAE Students

The Dean of The East China University of Science and Technology, Dr. Xiaopeng Li, described it as a great chance for strengthening ties. He further elaborated that it would help in the better formation of cultural understanding among its citizens. Emirati students and their families thanked the Chinese administration for the chance to study the Chinese language and culture at the same time.

Continued SCO Support and Involvement

An SCO delegation recently visited 12 Chinese universities. They aimed to access the facilities and support services extended to Emirati students. They met with Chinese officials and explored further steps for collaborating in academic programs as well as admissions.
