For the first time ever, a group of 50 students from the UAE is taking part in the Kerala State School Sports Meet in Kochi, representing the state’s 15th district. This historic event is a significant milestone for UAE students as they compete alongside athletes from the 14 traditional districts of Kerala, showcasing their athletic abilities on a prestigious stage.

The students come from seven Indian schools in the UAE that follow the Kerala State Board curriculum, and they are eager to make their presence felt in various sporting events. The schools involved in this groundbreaking initiative include:

New Indian Model School, Dubai
Gulf Model School, Dubai
Model Private School, Abu Dhabi
New Indian Model School, Sharjah
New Indian School, Ras Al Khaimah
Indian School, Fujairah
New Indian School, Umm Al Quwain

A Historic Representation
This year’s Kerala State School Sports Meet in Kochi is particularly special, as the UAE is sending its first-ever team to represent the 15th district of Kerala. This remarkable initiative follows an invitation from the Kerala government, which has welcomed these schools from the UAE to compete as a new district in the event.

A Competitive Showcase of Talent
The students, aged between 10 and 18, are participating in a variety of events across multiple sports disciplines, ranging from athletics to team games. Their participation not only highlights the sporting talent within the UAE’s Indian school community but also strengthens cultural ties and celebrates the shared history and heritage between the UAE and Kerala.

Bridging Communities Through Sports
This initiative highlights the growing educational and cultural ties between the UAE and Kerala. By establishing the 15th district, schools in the UAE are symbolically strengthening their connections with Kerala, further enriching the shared sporting and academic heritage of both regions. The event serves as an excellent opportunity for young athletes to showcase their determination, sportsmanship, and pride in their cultural roots.

A Platform for Future Opportunities
For many students, the Kerala State School Sports Meet provides an essential platform to display their athletic talents, with aspirations of excelling and making a name for themselves in upcoming competitions. Competing alongside some of Kerala’s most talented students will motivate them to reach for greater heights in their sporting endeavors.

This new chapter in the Kerala School Sports Meet is anticipated to foster increased collaboration between educational institutions in the UAE and Kerala, paving the way for future student exchanges and sporting opportunities.
