UAE Team Emirates capped off an incredible season by achieving the UCI World Tour best team ranking for the second year in a row.
The UAE team reached this milestone in style, securing a total of 81 wins. In total, 20 riders from the team claimed victories throughout the season.
The season was once again led by the remarkable Tadej Pogacar, who finishes the year as the No. 1 cyclist in the world for the fourth consecutive year.
Pogacar’s season included impressive wins at both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France, making him the first cyclist in 54 years to accomplish this prestigious double. He then added the World Championship title to his accolades, completing the triple crown, a feat achieved by only three riders. Pogacar also won several one-day races, including the monument races Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Il Lombardia.
In total, the Slovenian cyclist earned 25 wins this year, marking one of the greatest seasons in cycling history.
“Achieving the number one UCI ranking for two years in a row reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, from the staff to the riders. We always aim to be the best team globally,” said Mauro Gianetti, team principal and CEO of UAE Team Emirates.
“It’s clear that our efforts are paying off, and this success showcases the commitment from our riders, management, support team, sponsors, and, of course, the UAE. I am incredibly proud of our accomplishments, and we will continue to work hard to improve and achieve more in 2025.”
Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, president of UAE Team Emirates, expressed pride, stating, “Receiving this award is an incredible honor, and I am proud of the entire team. This year, we have set many records both on and off the road. I am thrilled for Tadej and all the riders; their impact in the UAE is undeniable.
“Participation in cycling has never been higher in the UAE, and the success of UAE Team Emirates is leading that trend. This achievement should make the riders, management, staff, and sponsors very proud. The team is once again at the top of the cycling world, and I look forward to watching them race in 2025.”
There are more reasons to celebrate for UAE Team Emirates. Pogacar marked his successful season by signing a new six-year contract. With this agreement, Pogacar will remain with the team for 12 years, aiming for even more achievements.
“It was not a hard choice because I feel very comfortable at UAE Team Emirates,” Pogacar. “The team keeps growing and improving, so it’s tough to consider leaving for a better fit, making this decision easy for me.”
