A new real estate major is set to be introduced at select UAE universities, giving Emirati students a chance to gain specialized qualifications in this growing industry.
Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Land Department, shared: “We are working with universities to launch this program exclusively for Emiratis, and details will be announced soon.”
This announcement was made during the 2nd Real Estate Day for Emirati Employment 2024 in Dubai. The event aims to empower UAE nationals and increase their participation in the real estate sector.
Highlighting the industry’s growth, Marwan added: “With over 400 job openings posted in a single day, the real estate sector offers great opportunities. Emiratis should take advantage of this chance to grow and contribute to one of the country’s most dynamic fields.”
Building on Last Year’s Success
The second Real Estate Day builds on the success of the previous year, which led to over 1,000 Emiratis securing jobs. This year, leading companies returned with various roles to attract young talent.
Dirham, a pioneering real estate company, focuses on empowering Emiratis. Its owner, Omar Alshaiba, said: “Our vision is for every Emirati to have an additional source of income. While others focus on recruitment, we aim to enable individuals to explore opportunities beyond traditional jobs.”
Dirham also offers flexible options, including online training and non-binding contracts, making it easier for Emiratis to gain hands-on experience in real estate.
Al Ruwad Real Estate, with 11 years of experience, presented roles in marketing, public relations, and administration. “We’re offering high-level positions for Emiratis in all areas related to real estate,” said company owner Ismail Al Hammadi.
Arada Real Estate continued its Emiratisation efforts by providing opportunities in marketing, hospitality, and other key areas. “We’re excited to join this event again and support Emirati talent,” said Alya Al Falasi, Emiratisation officer.
Young Emiratis Step Forward
The event drew interest from aspiring Emirati professionals. For example, 19-year-old Hazza Al Yamahi, a high school graduate currently at ADNOC Technical Academy, shared: “I want to gain real-world experience in Dubai’s real estate market. It’s a field I’m passionate about, and I’m eager to learn more.”
Zayed University graduates Shahed Bin Haidar and Fawaghi Al Sheikh also attended, hoping to find roles in interior design within the real estate sector.
A Collaboration to Shape the Future
The one-day event, hosted by the Dubai Land Department, was organized with the Emirati Human Resources Development Council, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis).
With a focus on Emiratisation and skill development, the introduction of the real estate major and employment drive is expected to create more opportunities for Emiratis and shape the future of the industry.
