UAE to Temporarily Suspend Critical Traffic, Police Services App for 18 Hours

A temporary suspension of the UAE Ministry of Interior’s traffic and police services smartphone app has been announced for planned maintenance. The disruption will endure 18 hours, from late Friday evening until mid-Saturday. Authorities have instructed users to obtain critical services on official websites during the outage.

The outage will hit most services, ranging from traffic fine payments and vehicle registration renewals to police clearance certificates. Importantly, the child protection services app, used for reporting and protecting children’s rights, will be unavailable over this time as well.

Ministry officials stressed that the maintenance is required to undertake key updates, bolster system security, and enhance user experience. Users are urged to finalize any urgent transactions or submissions prior to the scheduled downtime to prevent delay or service disruption.

Citizens are encouraged to remain informed through the Ministry’s official websites and social media pages. As slight inconvenience may be caused by the temporary interruption, the move is viewed as a preventive measure towards facilitating safer, more effective online service delivery in the UAE.
