Trucks will be banned on a section of Emirates Road during evening peak hours starting in 2025

Starting in 2025, trucks will be prohibited on a significant stretch of Emirates Road during evening peak hours, particularly heading towards Sharjah. This measure is part of a broader initiative aimed at reducing traffic congestion and enhancing road safety during the busiest times of the day.

The restriction will affect heavy vehicles traveling from Dubai to Sharjah, a route well-known for its traffic jams during evening rush hour. By limiting truck access, authorities hope to improve traffic flow and lessen delays for daily commuters. This decision is also in line with the UAE’s ongoing efforts to boost road efficiency and promote sustainable urban mobility.

Transport officials have emphasized that this ban will not only alleviate traffic issues but also improve safety on the roads. With fewer trucks on the road during peak hours, drivers can look forward to smoother and quicker journeys. Additionally, the reduction in large vehicles during crowded times is expected to lower the likelihood of accidents.

Authorities are collaborating with logistics companies to facilitate a seamless transition to these new regulations. They are developing alternative routes and schedules for truck operations to ensure supply chain efficiency while minimizing disruptions. This initiative showcases the UAE’s proactive stance in tackling infrastructure challenges and catering to the needs of its expanding population.
