UAE Weather Alert: Red Alert Issued as Dense Fog Covers Parts of the Country

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a red alert on Monday due to thick fog covering parts of the country. A red alert signals that residents need to stay extremely cautious, as conditions may worsen.

The NCM warned of reduced visibility, which could drop even further in certain coastal and inland areas, lasting until 9:00 AM.

Abu Dhabi Police, on X, advised motorists to drive carefully due to the limited visibility caused by the fog. Drivers are urged to follow the speed limits shown on electronic information boards.

The foggy weather is expected to continue as the UAE enters winter, with temperatures dropping to a low of 14.7ºC. On the other hand, temperatures will reach highs of 34ºC along the coast and drop to 16ºC in the mountains.

With winter approaching, foggy mornings are becoming more common. The weather department also issued red alerts for the past two days, warning about poor visibility.

Although the NCM forecasted foggy conditions this morning, the weather is expected to be generally fair, with some areas experiencing light cloud cover.

The night will bring humid conditions, continuing into Tuesday morning with the possibility of fog or mist forming in certain coastal and inland areas.

Expect light to moderate winds throughout the country, and the sea will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
