UAE Weather Alert: Red Warning Issued as Fog Reduces Visibility

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned drivers about poor visibility caused by fog on Monday morning. The alert, issued as a red warning, highlights a drop in horizontal visibility, which may further decrease in some coastal and internal areas until 9:30 a.m.

Safety Advice for Motorists

In a post on X, Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to exercise caution during the foggy conditions. Motorists are advised to follow the updated speed limits displayed on electronic boards to ensure safety.

Weather Outlook

Today is expected to be a generally fair day with occasional clouds in the eastern and northern regions. Humidity levels will increase during the night and into Tuesday morning, leading to a higher chance of fog or mist in certain coastal and internal areas.

High Humidity Levels in Abu Dhabi

Areas such as Sweihan and Al Ruwais in Abu Dhabi might experience humidity levels of up to 90%. Drivers in these regions are advised to be extra cautious due to the potential for reduced visibility.

Wind and Sea Conditions

Light to moderate winds are forecast across the UAE. The sea will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
