UAE Temperature Reaches 46.7°C with Humidity Contributing to Misery

The UAE is experiencing severe summer heat, with temperatures reaching a scorching 46.7°C in areas of Al Ain and Dubai, as per the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The severe heat is added to by high humidity levels, further making outdoor conditions even more unbearable.

Inhabitants around the Emirates are being asked to reduce exposure during peak daytime, hydrate, and not overexert themselves as the heat index increases. The NCM also predicted potential dust and reduced visibility in certain regions due to hot winds.

With July and August being usually the hottest months of the year in the UAE, public awareness campaigns, particularly in labour-intensive industries, were increased by health authorities to see that heat safety regulations are strictly adhered to.

With climate trends changing and urban heat growing more intense, the UAE continues to invest in cooling infrastructure, urban greenery, and smart weather systems to assist populations in dealing with the increasing mercury. For the meantime, residents prepare for more days of incessant heat and humid discomfort.
