The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported a scorching 50.5°C in Al Ain, making it one of the warmest days of the year thus far in the UAE. The extraordinary temperature was reported during an escalating July heatwave that swept across the region.
While inhabitants endure the sweltering heat, forecasters warn that a change in weather is on the way. Misty mornings, reduced visibility due to fog, and gusty, dusty winds are expected to sweep parts of the country in the coming days, signaling a brief break from the relentless sun.
Authorities have recommended citizens to stay hydrated, minimise outdoor activities during peak hours, and drive with caution, particularly during fog alerts and poor visibility conditions. Construction firms and employers are also advised to rigorously follow midday break regulations to safeguard worker safety.
Despite a brief drop in temperatures due to impending fog and winds, the UAE’s hot summer is far from gone. Experts believe these swings are normal for the season and urge the public to keep tuned for regular NCM updates.
