UAE Weather Update: Red Alert Issued for Fog, Speed Limits Reduced

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned drivers about poor visibility due to fog on Saturday morning.

The weather agency issued a red alert to inform residents that horizontal visibility could worsen in some coastal and inland areas until 9:30 a.m.

In a message on X, Abu Dhabi Police advised motorists to be careful because of reduced visibility during the fog. Drivers should pay attention to changing speed limits shown on electronic information boards.

Generally, the UAE is expected to have fair to partly cloudy weather on Saturday, with some clouds likely in the eastern and southern regions.

Temperatures may reach up to 38ºC in inland areas and drop to as low as 15ºC in the mountains.

Nights will be humid, continuing into Sunday morning, with a chance of fog or mist over coastal and inland areas.

Light to moderate winds, reaching speeds of up to 35 km/h and occasionally becoming stronger, are expected across the country.

The sea will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
