Winter has arrived in Al Ain, and residents woke up to a chilly breeze this morning, as reported by the Met department.

Temperatures dropped to a cool 14.7°C in Raknah, Al Ain, at 6:30 a.m. today, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Raknah: Al Ain’s Winter Hotspot

Raknah, a well-loved spot for locals, is especially popular during the winter months when its desert slopes are covered with snow and hail.

In winter, Raknah is often the coldest area in the region, with temperatures sometimes dipping as low as 0°C or even lower.

There was a time when groups of friends would travel to Raknah to enjoy the snow, hailstones, and ice. Many would gather around a bonfire, dressed in their warmest jackets and trench coats to stay cozy.

Will Raknah see temperatures drop below freezing again? We’ll find out as the winter season reaches its peak around January.
