UAE’s Falling Fertility Rate Raises Alarms, Experts Call for Preventive Measures

The United Arab Emirates is witnessing a significant fall in fertility rates, which could have long-term demographic and economic implications. Experts warn that if the birth rate continues to fall, it could affect the workforce and cultural continuity of the country, leading to debates on policy interventions to boost family growth.

The government aims to deal with the problem by establishing new initiatives like giving pecuniary rewards to the newly occurring parents, better parental leave policies, and supply better childcare support. Social campaigns promoting the importance of family life within Emirati culture are also on the agenda.

The experts point out the urgent need to deal with lifestyle issues causing fertility, such as stress, delayed marriages, and professional procrastination about the onset of a family. Another factor being talked about is awareness and support for fertility treatment.

Even though this challenge still lingers, the UAE is diligently trying to strike a balance between modernization and strong family values in the society so that a future that can be enjoyed by successive generations can be created.
