Usman Khawaja and Josh Inglis propel Australia to the dominant position over Sri Lanka

Usman Khawaja and Josh Inglis continued their brilliant form, piling more misery on Sri Lanka as Australia declared at a commanding 654-6. The declaration came after a dominant display with the bat, leaving Sri Lanka in a precarious position. Despite some resistance, the hosts found themselves on the back foot, quickly losing three key wickets in a dramatic shift of momentum.

Khawaja, already in good form, then batted solidly to anchor Australia’s innings. Inglis added a very important partnership and frustrated the Sri Lankan bowlers. This set a huge total that Sri Lanka would need to chase if they were going to have a chance of remaining in the game.

Sri Lanka came out to bat, and the pressure was palpable. Australia’s aggressive fielding and some clinical bowling saw the hosts struggle early on. The loss of three quick wickets rattled the Sri Lankan lineup, further intensifying the challenge ahead.

As for now, it has been so dominating that they will look for the commanding lead before the end. The match has not even gone to an all-out completion and everyone wants to know whether the Sri Lankan team would give a big-time comeback or would the Australians let them walk.
