As residents prepare for the upcoming long weekend celebrating UAE National Day, what can we expect from the weather? With pleasant daytime temperatures and cooler nights and mornings, outdoor spots are likely to become favorite choices for marking Eid Al Etihad.
However, those planning outdoor activities should keep in mind the possibility of light rainfall between November 30 and December 3. UAE authorities have also shared safety guidelines to ensure everyone enjoys this final long weekend of the year responsibly.
Weather Highlights for UAE National Day Weekend
During this period, the National Centre of Meteorology forecasts partly cloudy skies with an increase in low-cloud cover, especially in northern, eastern, coastal areas, and islands. This may lead to light rain in some regions. Temperatures will vary, dropping as low as 9°C in mountainous areas and reaching up to 29°C in internal regions.
Humidity levels are expected to rise during nights and early mornings, with fresh to moderate winds that may turn strong at times, particularly starting December 2. The sea conditions will shift from very rough to rough in the Arabian Gulf before calming to moderate or slight by December 3. Similar trends will be seen in the Oman Sea.
National Day Celebrations
UAE has announced holidays on December 2 and 3 for both government and private sector employees, giving most residents a 4-day weekend. Those in Sharjah enjoy an extra day, making it a 5-day weekend.
Residents can take advantage of staycation deals, with beach resorts offering rates as low as Dh480 per night on popular booking platforms. Tourists and locals alike can enjoy fireworks displays, mild temperatures, and vibrant outdoor setups in national colors. Flags and decorations will adorn malls, beaches, and deserts, creating a festive atmosphere.
The official National Day ceremony, featuring the UAE’s Rulers and leaders, will take place in Al Ain, at what has been described as a “breathtaking venue.” For those unable to attend, live-streaming zones will be set up across the country to bring the event closer to everyone
