Dubai commuters who regularly use public transport have a chance to win a grand prize of 1 million Nol+ points as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) celebrates Public Transport Day on Friday, November 1.
In addition, participants can take part in the ‘Mysterious Man Challenge’ over three days, with cash prizes up for grabs. On November 1, the lucky winner will also receive a 50-gram gold bar along with a Dh10,000 cash prize. Starting Monday, October 28, and continuing through Friday, November 1, RTA will host a variety of activities and events to mark this occasion. Public Transport Day is celebrated annually on November 1, and this year’s theme is “Good for you, Great for Dubai.”
RTA will recognize the most frequent users of public transport across six categories, selecting three winners from each category to be honored as ‘Public Transport Champions.’ The top winner will receive 1 million Nol+ points, the runner-up will earn 500,000 Nol+ points, and the third-place finisher will get 250,000 Nol+ points. A ceremony will be held to honor these winners.
One of the key attractions of the event is the ‘Mysterious Man Challenge.’ Participants are invited to search for the ‘Mysterious Man’ at metro stations over three days, from Wednesday, October 30, to Friday, November 1. Each day will feature one winner who will be awarded Dh10,000, with an additional 50-gram gold bar given to the winner on Friday, November 1.
“This year’s theme of the Public Transport Day aims to encourage residents and visitors to contribute to making Dubai the best city in the world for living by opting for RTA’s public transport services, which include the metro, tram, public buses, marine transport, and other soft mobility options like bicycles, e-scooters, and walking to reach public transport stations and stops across the city,” said Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Corporate Administrative Support Sector, RTA.
