The Sheikh Zayed Festival 2024-2025 started with a spectacular opening in Abu Dhabi’s Al Wathba region. It attracted thousands of people with stunning fireworks, drone displays, and vibrant cultural parades. It is open daily from 4 pm to midnight on weekdays and until 1 am on weekends. The festival is set to deliver a season filled with excitement, education, and entertainment until February 28, 2025.

Sky-High Show of Emirati PrideHeritage Village: A Step Back in Time

It started under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the guidance of Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. The festival attracted a large crowd on its inaugural day. It included both residents and international visitors. Attendees enjoyed traditional Emirati performances such as Al Ayyala and Al Razfa. It is a musical presentation by the Abu Dhabi Police Orchestra with a vibrant international parade.

The audience was mesmerized by spectacular drone formations. The drones created intricate designs in the sky, including a tribute portrait of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This was followed by a dazzling fireworks display that lit up the night. Drones and fireworks perfectly capture the festival’s festive atmosphere.

Heritage Village: A Step Back in Time

Many visitors were drawn to the Heritage Village. It was an interactive experience showcasing the UAE’s diverse lifestyles, from mountainous to agricultural, marine, and desert. Authentic handicrafts like Al Sadu weaving and Al Talli making highlighted the Emirati crafts. The inviting aroma of freshly brewed Ghawa (Arabic coffee) provided a warm welcome. It reflected the Emirati hospitality. The Al Wathba Floating Market, helicopter rides, and the Rare Breeds Sanctuary made the festival attractive for visitors.
