The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has released an immediate traffic advisory, declaring road closures and diversions from June 13 to June 26 because of planned bridge maintenance work. Motorists and travelers are advised to preplan and plan extra time during this time.
The closures will affect major traffic routes throughout the city, and diversions will be in place to cause the least disruption. RTA has worked in cooperation with Dubai Police and other stakeholders to apply alternative routes, and electronic signboards have been triggered to direct drivers in real-time.
Authorities are calling on residents and visitors to stay informed through the RTA’s official media and navigation apps such as Google Maps and Waze, which are being changed with real-time information. Users of public transport are also encouraged to look out for route alterations and use Dubai Metro and buses for more convenient travel.
The RTA stressed that the maintenance is a part of a wider infrastructure upgrade program to improve road safety and bridge quality throughout the emirate. Drivers are advised to drive slowly close to work areas and adhere to signage and directions to prevent penalties or accidents.
