The prestigious Zayed Award for Human Fraternity 2025, with a generous prize of $1 million, was conferred on three exceptional individuals and organizations in a special ceremony held in Abu Dhabi. Heads of states and dignitaries around the world came together to pay their respects to the outstanding work done by Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, World Central Kitchen (WCK), and Heman Bekele, whose work has left deep impressions around the world on peace building and unity. Prime Mottley received praise for the work she has been doing as the climate champion of the Caribbean for sustainable development.

Her tireless efforts on the world stage to fight climate change and ensure just solutions received proper recognition. World Central Kitchen (WCK), founded by Chef José Andrés, was recognized for its pioneering humanitarian work, serving millions across vulnerable regions. Its work has brought it recognition around the world for providing food security during disasters. Heman Bekele is an Ethiopian dedicated humanitarian. He was awarded for his work of relentlessly empowering the marginalized and promoting education and healthcare access. His initiatives have changed many lives, especially in areas plagued by poverty and conflict.

Each of the winners has left a permanent mark on the efforts toward human dignity, brotherhood, and peace across the globe. The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity was instituted to recognize the values embodied by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. His vision continues to inspire in the pursuit of peace and cooperation. This year’s winners form part of the elite group of individuals and organizations that have molded a better world through their leadership and commitment to human fraternity.
